Louis F. Fabre, MD., Ph.D. — Dr. Fabre
has served as Chairman of the Board and Secretary since May
1993; served as President from September 1992 to May, 1993 and
has served as a director since September 1992. Since 1973,
Dr. Fabre has been a licensed physician and has served as chief
executive officer of Fabre Research Clinics, Inc. involved in
clinical research relating to the development of psychiatric
drugs. Dr. Fabre has been Chief Executive Officer of Clinical
Evaluations, Inc. since 1988. Through Fabre Research Clinics,
Inc., Dr. Fabre has been involved in the clinical development
of more than 17 psychiatric drugs approved in the U.S. since
1973 and was involved in pivotal studies for the drugs Prozac,
Zoloft, Xanax, Halcion, Desyrel, Wellbutrin, Paxil, ProSom,
Asendin, Doral, Paxipam, Effexor, Zyprexa and Seroquel. Dr.
Fabre has been involved in the private practice of psychiatry
since May 1973. Dr. Fabre was awarded a Ph.D. in Physiology
at Case Western Reserve in 1966, obtained his M.D. at Baylor
College of Medicine in 1969, and completed his psychiatric residence
at Baylor affiliated hospitals in Houston, Texas from 1969 to
1973. He has been board certified in psychiatry since 1976,
and a certified laboratory director since 1978.
Stephen J. Kramer, MD. — Dr. Kramer has
served as Chief Executive Officer since March 1, 1994, and served
as President from May 1993 to March 1994. He has also served
as Secretary, Treasurer and a director of FKP since September
1992. Dr. Kramer has been board certified in psychiatry since
1977, board certified in quality assurance and utilization
review since 1992, and in private practice since 1973 (in-patient
and out-patient psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, managed care
and drug research). Dr. Kramer was a clinical instructor in
the Department of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in
Houston, Texas from 1973 until 1976 and at the University of
Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas from 1974 until
1976. He obtained his B.S. in Pharmacy from Massachusetts College
of Pharmacy in 1963, received his M.D. at Medical College of
Virginia in 1967, completed his internship at Maimonides Hospital
of New York in 1968 and completed his residency in psychiatry
at Montefiore Hospital in New York in 1971.
Edward H. Koehler, Jr., MS, MBA —
Mr. Koehler has served as Executive Vice President, Licensing
and Business Development and acting Chief Financial Officer of
the Company since December of 2004, and has been working with
the Company in a consulting capacity since 1999. Prior to joining
the Company, Mr. Koehler was a founder and principal of GulfStar
Group, a boutique investment banking firm formed in 1991 to provide
merger & acquisition and capital-raising services to primarily
private, middle-market companies in the Southwest. Prior to founding
GulfStar, Mr. Koehler headed the Houston investment banking offices
of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Merrill Lynch. He began
his investment banking career when he joined Rotan Mosle in 1980.
Mr Koehler has focused his activities over his career on assisting
technology and life sciences companies and has worked with biotechnology
and pharmaceutical companies since the early 1980s. He holds BS
and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering with a minor in BioEngineering
from Rice University, and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from
Harvard Business School.
